The application deadline for the Spring 2012 Career Development Grant is in the second week of February!
Ever wonder what past recipients of the grant have done with their $500?
Some students used their grant to support expenses related to a networking trip to New York City; expenses related to graduate school visits nation-wide; expenses related to financing the production and post-production of a mockumentary; expenses related to purchasing professional interview attire; expenses related to purchasing a high-quality digital voice recorder and internship attire; and expenses related to participating in the New York City Seminar.
The grant was also given to students who wanted to apply to graduate school for CSD; purchase creative software and a digital camera; attend the Chicago Advertising Federation Career Day; attend an international public relations conference in St. Petersburg, Russia; conduct a summer internship search in New York City; produce and ship tapes during a job search; purchase a quality photo lighting kit; collect data for a Plan II senior thesis; apply to law school; and take a trip to London to interview with advertising agencies
The deadline to submit the Spring 2012 grant application is 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 9th. CCS will announce grant recipients on Friday, February 17th. Remember, grant money can be used at any time during the academic year the grant is awarded (September 1–August 31).
